Mission Statement
Purpose:
The purpose of the Northern Berkshire Astronomical Society is to foster the hobby of astronomy by bringing together individuals interested in the study of the universe.
Goals:
Observation: To promote, educate, and facilitate the appreciation of astronomy
Outreach: To educate the general public and school community about the science of astronomy.
Community: To provide a welcoming environment for hobbyists of all levels to share knowledge and experience.
Resources: To facilitate the use of telescopes, astrophotography equipment, and study materials.
Services and Outreach
The club offers several ways to interact:
Monthly Meetings: Meets monthly at the North Adams Public Library on the first Wednesday of every month, 6 PM
Public Observing: Several events are held through the year at locations around the Berkshires
Public Talks: Several members are available to give presentations on a wide range of topics in astronomy.
Membership
Membership is open to all persons (18+) who support the Clubβs purpose and have a bona fide interest in astronomy.
