We used to think of the Universe as the visible planets all moving around the Earth with a fixed “dome” of stars. Over time, we moved to a heliocentric model (with some struggle), then with more in-depth observations of stars, a large single galaxy, then finding the Milky Way was one galaxy among many. Now we’re peering into the early Universe and wondering if even that is only one piece of an even-larger picture.
This talk covers this advancement, the technologies that made it happen, right up to the current questions of dark matter and dark energy. Where does it all end?
