Historical Perspectives
Astronomy is the oldest science, and its history is full of remarkable people β observers, mathematicians, monks, and amateurs β who pushed our understanding of the universe forward with the tools they had. Some are famous. Many have been forgotten.
This series explores that history: the astronomers and their discoveries, the instruments and observatories that made them possible, and the cultures around the world that have been reading the sky for as long as humans have looked up.
